The Aussie 7s and Super Rugby stalwart returns to LA following two seasons with the Chicago Hounds, in which he captained.
The 33-year-old center has gained truly global experience over his rugby career, playing in Super Rugby and England’s Premierships before coming to LA to play for the Giltinis, where he won an MLR Championship in 2021.
In 2013, Meakes moved to England linking up with Gloucester Rugby before making the move home to the Western Force in Super Rugby. Following a year with Western Force, Meakes signed with the Melbourne Rebels through to 2020. He then returned to England to sign with Premiership side London Irish on a short-term deal until the end of January 2021, before joining the MLR for the LA Giltinis in 2021 and 2022.
The former MLR Back of the Year, Meakes, owns a coffee shop called Boulevard in Venice Beach, Los Angeles, and has a son named Alfie.
