Barbara is truely the GOAT, having captained the United States at the first Women’s Rugby World Cup in 1991. They defeated England 19-6 in the final to claim the 1991 World Cup. She also participated at the 1994, and 1998 World Cup.

Amanda Micheli (in USA jersey) is an Oscar and Emmy-nominated director, and played on the Women’s international USA Rugby team. She has been a lecturer at Stanford, and continues to drive the game of rugby through her passion for story telling.

“We were very honored that Barbara Bond and Amanda Micheli led the RFCLA jersey presentation yesterday." Said CEO Pete Sickle.

"In addition to sharing their accomplishments as elite athletes who represented the USA in multiple Rugby World Cups, the stories and principles they shared embody the very best of the core rugby values that bind together the global rugby community.

“We are proud to welcome them into the RFCLA family and hope that together, events like today’s doubleheader that combines the USA Women’s national team’s test match v Canada and the MLR match between RFCLA and New England will continue to grow the game for men and women, boys and girls in Southern California and throughout the country.”

Rugby Football Club Los Angeles take on the New England Free Jacks this Sunday alongside USA and Canada in a 'Festival of Rugby' at Dignity Health Sports Park in Carson.

Tickets available HERE, with the match being streamed LIVE (3:30 pm PST) on The Rugby Network and Bally Sports West.
